What personal information do we collect?
We collect your Internet protocol (IP) address and use software tools to measure and collect non-identifying session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.
We also receive, collect, and store any information you choose to enter on our website or to provide us in any other way. If you sign up as a member, we collect your email address, location (country only), and password (encrypted). When your membership account is approved, the website will generate an editable username for you (based on the first part of your email address). We collect any of the following voluntary data which you subsequently choose to add to the website: profile picture, first name, last name, phone number, second email address, and any text and uploads added to your ‘About’ section, forum posts, and forum comments.

Who can see your information?
The CIRCuiTS Team will be able to see all data mentioned above apart from your password. Other registered forum members will only be able to see your profile picture, username, and text and uploads you add to your ‘About’ section, forum posts, and forum comments. If you disclose your contact or other personal information in these areas of the site you do so at your own risk, and we do not accept any responsibility if something goes wrong as a result of your choice to do so. Members are required to abide by our Forum Rules which are displayed in every forum area and which include guidelines regarding the type of information permitted for users to add to the site.

How do we collect information?
Your IP address and session information are collected on entry to any page of the site. Your email address, location (country only), and password (encrypted) are collected after pressing ‘Sign Up’ on the sign-up page accessed when you first enter the Members Forum page. Your username is generated when your sign-up request is approved, and it is editable on your account page(s). Your profile picture, first name, last name, phone number, second email address, and text and uploads in your ‘About’ section are collected via form fields and upload boxes/links on your account page(s). Forum posts and comments are collected via each post’s edit page and comment fields.

Why do we process your personal information?
We process your personal information for the following reasons:

To process your membership request and to administer and provide you with access to your membership account;

To communicate with you, for example in case of technical issues or Forum Rule breaches;

To improve your user experience by allowing you, to the extent of your choosing, to customise and personalise your account and to contribute to forum posts;

To protect the website and its data by allowing investigation into fraud, hacking or other malicious site visits;

To prevent misuse of the discussion forums;

To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, which we may used to provide and improve our services;

How do we store, share, and disclose your personal information?
Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to provide our services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. Your email address is automatically shared with and stored in the secure circuits@kcl.ac.uk inbox accessible by members of the CIRCuiTS Team only. We do not share or disclose your personal information to any other third parties unless they have a legal right to request such information.

What is our legal basis for processing?
The legal basis for this data processing, in accordance with Article 6(1) f) of the GDPR, is our overriding legitimate interest in the provision of our website for the public benefit of information about, access to, training in, and support around cognitive remediation therapy.

Do you have to provide your personal information and what are the consequences of not doing so?
Your email address is the information you must provide via the sign-up page if you would like an account to access our Member Forum pages. If you do not provide an email address in this case, you will not be able to access our forum pages, although you will of course still be able to access all other pages on our website.

How long do we keep your information for?
Your data is stored for as long as it is needed in order to be able to provide our website and its services, administer your membership account, contact you in relation to your membership account, and for future quality assurance purposes. Data associated with a member’s account can be deleted on request at any time, however (see below).

Amending or removing your information
You may unsubscribe from notifications and email communications at any time via the ‘Settings’ page of your member account. If you would like to access, correct, amend or delete any personal information we have about you, including having your account deleted, or otherwise withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal information, please contact us at circuits@kcl.ac.uk we will happily respect your wishes.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
